Buying again adds time to your existing paid-until date. A monthly plan followed by a yearly plan keeps the remaining days and adds a full year.
The account drops to 1 GB immediately, so uploads are blocked while it is over that limit. If it is still over 1 GB 60 days after expiry, the oldest files are removed until it fits within 1 GB — for example, 5 GB of files is reduced to 1 GB or less. Renewing before the deadline cancels that cleanup. The account itself follows the six-month inactivity policy.
